1907: The club championship of Australia (CoA) series resumes after a 14 year break with Norwood 13.12 (90) defeating Carlton 8.10 (58) at the Adelaide Oval. 1912:  Club championship of Australia not contested.  Dave McNamara (Essendon Association) kicks 107 goals for season in VFA.  The VFL introduces mandatory numbering of all players following a trial of the system during the 1911 finals. 1921: Fourth interstate championship series takes place in Perth. Western Australia defeat South Australia and the VFL, latter for first ever time, to emerge undefeated champions in three team competition. WAFL introduce Sandover Medal to be awarded on same lines as SAFL's Magarey Medal. First winner: Tom Outridge (Subiaco). Dan Moriarty (South Adelaide) becomes first and to date only player to win three consecutive Magarey Medals. Glenelg enter SAFL bringing total number of teams in competition to 8.  North Melbourne (VFA) withdraw from competition after 8 rounds in order to make failed bid to gain admission to VFL. Grand final results - VFL: Richmond 5.6 (36) d. 1924: The VFL win fifth Australian interstate championship series, held in Hobart. Footscray (VFA premiers) 9.10 (64) defeat Essendon (VFL premiers) 4.12 (36) in end of  season challenge match at MCG. VFL finals series conducted on round robin basis for second and last time. First Brownlow Medal for best and fairest player in VFL won by Edward 'Carji' Greeves of Geelong. 1995: Fremantle enter the AFL. Central District (SANFL) contest grand final for first ever time, but lose to Port Adelaide.  Last ever VFA competition is contested by just 9 clubs following withdrawal of Dandenong, Oakleigh and Prahran.
